CLERMONT, Fla. – The Edgewood College Softball team dropped a late-night contest against Farmingdale State on Monday in Florida. The Rams scored four times in each of the first two innings in the 10-5 final at Hancock Park.
RAMS 10, EAGLES 5
- The Rams (3-1) jumped out to a big lead with four runs in each of their first two innings at the plate. Lyndsey Shaw started the party right away for Farmingdale State, belting a leadoff home run.
- Edgewood College (5-6) would start chipping away with three runs in the top of the third, the last of those a solo home run off the bat of
Jenna Sanchez. The would add a run in the top of the fourth to get within four, but Farmingdale State scored twice in the bottom of the fifth to distance themselves once again.
- The Eagles finished the contest with five hits with the Sanchez home run the lone extra-base hit of the evening. The Rams totaled 12 hits with Shaw and Brooke Walker both going 3-for-3, while combining for five runs scored. Both players doubled as well in addition to the Shaw leadoff home run.

Grace Pustina took the loss for the Eagles, working five innings before
Elizabeth Malarski took over in the sixth inning, delivering a scoreless frame. Ava Shorr went the distance the Rams, allowing five runs, two earned.
- Malarski scored twice for the Eagles, while
Grace Ott drove in a pair of runs. Both players recorded a stolen base on Monday evening as well.
