PEORIA, Ill. – The Edgewood College Softball team split two games for the second-straight day at the Mount Mary Collegiate Slugger Series, opening the day with a win over Lawrence before dropping the second game against Augustana. The Eagles finished the tournament with a 2-2 record.
EAGLES 11, LAWRENCE 2
- After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, Edgewood College (2-2) responded with a four-run second inning and finished with 11 unanswered runs for the 11-2 win. The Eagles tacked on one run in the fourth inning before putting the game out of reach with a six-run seventh.

Haylee Kasuboski went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored. She started the Eagles scoring in the second with a run-scoring double, while
Anna Robbins,
Grace Pustina, and
Kya Loffswold added RBIs in the frame as well.
- Loffswold finished the game with three RBI, adding a two-RBI single in the seventh inning.
Alyse Maurer collected three hits and scored twice, while Pustina and Sanchez each tallied two hits.
- Pustina also went the distance in the circle, striking out six batters and allowing just two runs, one earned. She scattered six hits in the complete-game effort.
AUGUSTANA 7, EAGLES 4
- The Eagles took on another team nicknamed the Vikings in the second game in Augustana (2-1). After falling behind 3-0 in the top of the second, Edgewood College scored once each in the second, fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to take a 4-3 lead into the top of the seventh. That is when Augustan rallied with a four-run frame to steal the win away from Edgewood College.
- Morgan Bielfeldt capped off the four-run seventh for the Vikings with a two-run home run to put her team up 7-4.
- Eight different Eagles collected hits in the loss with
Tatum Duff, Robbins, and Kasuboski recording doubles. Duff drove in two runs, while also going the distance in the circle.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles will play next weekend at the Auggie Dome Games, playing a doubleheader on both Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5. The first of those twinbills will be against UW-River Falls on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field in Minneapolis.
