MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Edgewood College women's basketball team fell to Wisconsin Lutheran College, the unanimous choice to win the 2022-23 NACC women's basketball title according to the league's preseason poll. The Eagles never got things going on the offensive side of the ball, falling 60-34 in NACC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wisconsin Lutheran College (3-3, 1-1 NACC) jumped out to a 17-7 lead after the first quarter behind 66.67 percent (6-for-9) shooting from the charity stripe. They would go on to shoot 50 percent (3-of-6) from three-point range in the second quarter, building a 31-15 lead at halftime.
- Edgewood College (1-6, 0-2 NACC) would get within 15 points through the middle of the third quarter, but Wisconsin Lutheran pulled away at the end for the 26-point victory.
- The Warriors saw 10 players record points in their first NACC win of the season, taking a 21-11 edge in bench scoring.
- Paige Banks led the Eagles attack knocking down 12 points. Vivian Guerrero pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.
THE OPPOSITION
- Sam Leisemann led the warriors with a 13-point, 13 rebound double-double. Jayden Hill knocked down a game-high 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the floor.
- The Warriors scored 21 points off turnovers. In addition, 21 of their points came off the bench as 10 players recorded points.
