OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles men's basketball squad continued their non-conference slate Tuesday evening. They traveled to face the UW-Oshkosh Titans. The Titans (4-2), ranked third in the d3hoops.com preseason poll, put together a dominant second half to down the Eagles (0-3) in 79-52 fashion.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UW-Oshkosh started the game on an 11-2 blitz, but Edgewood College roared back within two with a 7-0 response themselves. The squads would trade blows, with the Titans stringing together five straight before a technical foul helped the Eagles put together a 10-2 rally to take a 19-18 lead and force a UW-Oshkosh timeout at 7:54 left in the half.
- The Titans would tie it back up at 21 all with 6:12 remaining in the first frame. Edgewood College would hold a slim 9-8 advantage over the rest of the half to head into the locker room with a 30-29 lead after a late three with seconds left.
- An 8-4 rally by UW-Oshkosh put them ahead 37-33 at 17:06 in the second half. The Eagles would hang with the Titans for the next few minutes as the latter led 42-40 with 13:40 remaining. Edgewood College struggled with fouls, having six to UW-Oshkosh's zero with 13:20 left. A quick 5-0 reply by the Titans put them up 49-40 and forced an Eagles timeout with just over half of the second frame to play.
- A 6-0 rally by Edgewood College would make it a one possession game once more at 49-46 UW-Oshkosh. A 9-2 burst by the Titans put them ahead 58-48 with 7:51 to play. UW-Oshkosh poured it on, tacking on 11 unanswered to put Edgewood College down by 21 with 3:45 remaining in the game. The Titans would finish the second half on a 30-6 run.
- UW-Oshkosh shot 48.1 percent (26-of-54) from the field, while the Eagles finished 37.5 percent (21-of-56). Both teams combined to shoot 9-of-36 from the beyond the arc.
- Edgewood College lost the rebounding battle 41 to 24 and finished with 22 fouls.

Jake Schroeckenthaler was the lone Eagle in double-digits with 14 points.
Drew Houtakker finished with a team-high six rebounds.
- Four Titans finished with double-digit points. Hunter Plamann had a game-high 23 points, while Levi Borchert had the lone double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds as well as a game-high four steals.
- UW-Oshkosh scored 50 points in the second half after both teams combined to score 59 in the first.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Titans are now 29-4 against the Eagles since 1986-87.
- Edgewood College has lost three in a row and has lost five of their last six dating back to the end of the 2021-22 slate.

The Eagles return to the Todd Wehr Edgedome seeking their first win of the season. They play host to Coe College with first tip scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday. The Kohawks won the only matchup between the two squads back in the 2021-22 season by a 78-64 margin in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
