MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's volleyball squad hosted their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Tournament match since 2017 Tuesday night. They hosted the sixth-seeded Benedictine Eagles as the third seed in the conference postseason. Edgewood College (20-9) had little issue in the battle of the Eagles, blowing past Benedictine (14-14) with a decisive 25-14, 25-9, 25-12 sweep.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College jumped all over Benedictine from the first serve and led 16-3 as they cruised through the first set. Benedictine hit .000 in the frame to Edgewood College's .417.
- The second frame was a similar story, as Edgewood College closed out the set on a 11-1 roll including three
Lea Bunch aces after being up 12-4 to start the frame. Edgewood College never trailed in either set.
- Edgewood College continued to roll as they had a 12-5 advantage in the early going of the final set. Benedictine would push within four, but a 6-1 Edgewood College run put momentum firmly back in their court as they cruised to a sweep.
- Edgewood College outhit Benedictine .376 to .012 and dominated the major statistical categories, including a 42-17 advantage in kills and an 11-1 edge in aces.

Abigail Hoffmann continued to shine in many rolls for Edgewood College, posting a 15-kill, five-ace, 10 assist stat line. She also hit .636 on 22 attempts.

Lea Bunch anchored the Edgewood College backline with 12 and 11 digs respectively.

Taylor Salmon helped fuel the Edgewood College barrage with a match-high 24 assists.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Hoffmann's .636 attack percentage puts her at third place on the all-time individual match list among qualifying Edgewood College players. The .376 attack percentage as a team ranks 11th on the all-time single match list.
- Edgewood College has now won twice in a row over Benedictine and now leads the series since 1998 13-9.
UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will hit the road for the semifinals of the NACC Tournament Thursday evening. They will travel to face the second-seeded Aurora Spartans in Aurora, Ill. with first serve scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Eagles are 7-12 against the Spartans since 1996, with Aurora winning earlier this year at the Edgedome 3-0.
