RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team fell to Dominican University 13-1 on Saturday afternoon. In the NACC battle, Edgewood College struggled to stop the Stars high powered offense, especially in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dominican University (9-3-3, 6-3-2 NACC) didn't take long to make their mark, scoring three times in the first five minutes. John Cronnolly notched all three goals, first at the 3:33 mark. The Stars would add a fourth goal in the 26th minute, taking a four-goal lead into halftime.
- The Stars offense got going in the second half, scoring nine goals after halftime. Eight different Dominican players found the back of the net as the Stars took a dominant 13-0 lead into the final five minutes of play.
- With just fourteen seconds remaining, Edgewood College (1-14-1, 1-10-0 NACC) found the back of the net. Ian Plecha notched his first career goal in the final seconds of the match.
- Ty Bienema and Jack Gentner split time in net for the Eagles, combining for six saves on the afternoon.
- Edgewood College was outshot 26-2 in the match.
