FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team closed out the 2022 season with a 6-0 loss at Marian University on Wednesday night. The Eagles struggled to find the back of the net, taking just two shots on the evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Marian University (10-6-2, 7-3-2 NACC) battling for a spot in the NACC Tournament, didn't waste any time scoring. The Sabres netted three goals in the first 30 minutes of action. The first goal came from Chase Hayden, assisted by Logan Holevas in the 16th minute. Holevas would add a goal of his own, converting a penalty kick in the 21st minute. Marian would go into halftime with a 5-0 lead.
- The Sabres added their sixth and final goal with 68:10 on the clock in the second half. Israel Duran became the fifth Marian player to score.
- Edgewood College (1-15-1, 1-11-0 NACC) took just two shots in the contest, one coming in each half of action. Austin Hauser and Ian Plecha each notched one shot for the Eagles.
- Ty Bienema and Jonathan Wind split time in goal for the Eagles, both recording four saves, a career-high mark for Wind.
