Eagles blanked by Scarlet Hawks

VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team dropped a NACC home contest to Illinois Tech on Saturday afternoon. Despite finishing even in shots with the Scarlet Hawks, the Eagles couldn't' find the back of the net, resulting in a 3-0 final.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Illinois Tech (8-7-0, 3-6-0 NACC) didn't waste any time finding the back of the net. The Scarlet Hawks netted their first and only goal of the first half in the fifth minute of action. Jordan Plewa found the top right of the Eagles net, assisted by Anthony Paiotti. The 1-0 lead would hold until the 50th minute as the Scarlet Hawks added two second-half scores for the 3-0 final. Michael Kaczowka had the second score with Ziyad Yacoubou providing the assist. Devin Zakeri notched the third and final goal of the afternoon in the 73rd minute, unassisted.

- Edgewood College (1-12-1, 1-8-0 NACC) finished the match with 15 shots, five of those on goal. Sal Genco had four of the shots with one of his finding the Scarlet Hawks keeper. Drew Jarstad and Jonathan Alfaro both finished with three shots.

- Jack Gentner turned away five Illinois Tech shots as he played all 90 minutes as keeper.

- Edgewood College will play their final home match of the season on Wednesday as they host Concordia Wisconsin. Action is set for 7:00 p.m. from Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park.
