MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Eagles women's volleyball squad hosted Senior Night and Pack the Dome at the Edgedome Friday evening. They played a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) foe in Dominican. The Eagles (13-8, 7-1 NACC) took down the Stars (5-14, 2-6 NACC) in a 3-0 sweep.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dominican lead 6-4 before a 12-1 burst by Edgewood College put them firmly in the driver's seat on their way to a 25-15 victory
- The two squads traded blows early in set two, but the Eagles found themselves with the first real edge after a 7-2 rally put them up 14-10. The Stars would not be deterred so easily, as an 8-1 run helped in part by Edgewood College errors put them ahead 23-22. The Eagles would find their extra gear to blunt the momentum and take the last three points in the set for a 25-23 victory.
- Dominican found themselves with momentum early in the third set as a 6-1 run propelled them to a 11-6 edge. Edgewood College would bounce back with a 10-4 response to claim a 16-15 advantage, and answered a 3-0 Stars rally with a 4-0 Eagles sprint. Dominican battled back to a 22-22 tie before Edgewood College put themselves at set and match point with a pair of kills. The Stars forced extra points after tying it at 24 all, but the Eagles offense got to work one last time with a pair of kills and a service ace finishing off the sweep.
- Edgewood College outhit Dominican .250 to .189 and won the aces battle 10-2.

Taylor Salmon had 24 assists while
Amanda Carlson had six kills and three aces.

Abigail Hoffmann played a key part in the Eagles sweep, with 15 kills, eight assists, and eight digs to her name.

Abbey Falk had eight kills and five blocks, while
Kate Gunderson recorded nine assists and three aces.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Hoffmann's kills were her season best and tied her career high, while Gunderson's three aces were her career best as well.
- The Eagles have now won seven in a row over NACC competition.
- Edgewood College has won four in a row over the Stars.

The Eagles continue their home stand with the Edgewood College Triangular Saturday. They kick things off by hosting Aurora in a NACC battle at noon, followed by a matchup with no. 15 UW-Stevens Point scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The Eagles are 7-11 against the Spartans, and 3-15 against the Pointers since 1996 and 1993 respectively.
