VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College men's soccer team fell to Lakeland University 7-0 on Wednesday evening. In the NACC battle, Edgewood College struggled to stop the Muskies offense in the second half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lakeland University (3-7-3, 1-7-1 NACC) made their mark in the 37th minute of action twice. The Muskies found the back of the net for the first goal of the game at the 36:15 mark. Just 27 seconds later, Haji Suleiman gave Lakeland a 2-0 lead, his goal assisted by Michael Barragan.
- The Muskies offense got going in the second half, scoring five of their seven goals after halftime. Michael Barragan, Dirk Dell Adema, Westin Hoffman, and Bryan Tovar each scored in the second half for Lakeland. All seven of Lakeland's goals were assisted. The final goal came in the 87th minute.
- Edgewood College (1-11-1, 1-7-0 NACC) struggled offensively, despite having a few opportunities in the first half of action. The Eagles were outshot 23-13, as Edgewood College only put for shots on goal. Drew Jarstad led the way with five shots, Will Thesing added two shots, and six other Eagles each recorded a shot.
- Jack Gentner finished the night with seven saves through 72 minutes of action. Jonathan Wind made just his second appearance for the Eagles in goal, recording one save in 17:05 minutes in net.
