Balanced attack vaults Eagles over Muskies

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team locked down their fourth straight victory and fifth straight NACC win with a final score of 85-56 over Lakeland University. Four Eagles scored in double figures on the afternoon, as Abby Shane led the way with 18 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (5-10, 5-3 NACC) saw their strongest and most balanced offensive effort of the season on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles shot 56.9 percent (29-for-51) from the floor and 68.4 percent (13-for-19) from three-point range, and 82.4 percent (14-for-17) from the charity stripe.

- The Eagles went on a 10-2 run through the first period and never looked back, taking a seven-point lead going into the second period.


- Through the second period Lakeland (7-7, 3-4 NACC) seemed to settle in and get some offensive holding in the contest, but Edgewood College added 24 points courtesy of five makes from beyond the arc and took a 12 point (40-28) lead into halftime.

- The Eagles biggest lead of the night came in the final 10 minutes, as Emma Raupp added her fourth and fifth points of the contest from the charity stripe for a 32-point advantage.

- Four Eagles scored in double figures on the afternoon, with Shane leading the way scoring 18 points. The senior was almost perfect in the game, only missing two shots from the floor and going 4-for-5 from beyond the arc in her best scoring performance of the season.  Emma Klein wasn't far behind, compiling 16 points for the Eagles on 6-for-8 shooting. Diamond Pikulyk added 14 points, while Eden Bonser added 13 points off the bench.

- Vivian Guerrero pulled down a team-high seven rebounds, while Pikulyk and Bonser each added six rebounds. Bonser also dished out five assists in the victory.

- 10 different Eagles scored in the victory, while 11 pulled down a rebound. In addition, 29 of the Eagles 85 points came off the bench.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles 68.4 percent three-point shooting goes down as the highest in program history, besting a 64.7 percent from December 1, 2012 against Aurora University. In addition, the Eagles 13 made three-pointers ties for the most made in program history. On December 15, 2018 the Eagles made 13 three-pointers against Rockford University. 

THE OPPOSITION
- Ellie Felsinger led the Muskies attack with 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the floor. Lauren Downs added 10 points for Lakeland. Felsinger and Brianna Jones both pulled down seven rebounds each.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will host Aurora University on Tuesday, January 25. Action from the Todd Wehr Edgedome is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
