MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Volleyball team dropped a 6-3 contest to UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday in the team's 2021-22 home opener at Quann Park.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles (0-4) picked up one win in doubles play to start the day, a tiebreaker victory from the No. 1 duo of
Cecile Fuchs and
Ally Verbauwhede. Fuchs and Verbauwhede won 8-7 (7-2) to keep the Eagles within striking distance heading into singles play.
- Fuchs continued the momentum from doubles into her singles matching, easily dispatching her opponent, 6-0, 6-2. She continues to roll, having lost just one singles match in her entire collegiate career.

Ellie Murphy also posted a singles victor for the Eagles. She won the first set 6-4, before falling 6-3 in set two. Murphy won her tiebreaker 10-7 to gain the No. 4 singles victory.
- The Pointers (5-0) won the other matches in straight sets to secure the non-conference win.

- The Eagles will turn their attention to NACC play with a home match against Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Quann Park.
