Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Pirates hold Eagles at bay

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Edgewood College Women's Soccer team was shut out 4-0 in non-conference play against Whitworth University Sunday. The Eagles struggled to get much going offensively as the Pirates offense dominated. The loss drops the Eagles to 0-3 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Whitworth University (2-0) scored to early goals in the first half, added a third minutes before halftime, and a fourth goal coming out of the break. The first score came in the 25th minute on a cross from the left side. Just one minute later Gabriella Coprivnicar scored the second Pirates goal, converting a long shot from outside the box. The third goal of the first half came in the 44th minute, as Coprivnicar found the back of the net for the second time.

- The Pirates added the final goal of the game just one minute and 20 seconds into the second period, as Macey Morales connected from close range on the right side of the box.

- Edgewood College (0-3) finished with three shots, all coming in the second half. Sierra Connell, Lauryn Nachreiner, and Hallie Wilkins each took a shot for the Eagles.

- Mackenzie Jones and Grace Wildeboer traded time in goal for the Eagles, both playing 45 minutes. Jones collected three saves on the afternoon.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will return home on Wednesday, September 8 for another non-conference match against Beloit College. Action from Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park in Verona is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
