Loggers blank Eagles in Non-Conference Action

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Edgewood College Women's Soccer team went on the road for the first time this season Saturday to take on non-conference opponent University of Puget Sound. The Eagles couldn't get much going offensively as the Loggers secured the 4-0 win with three second-half goals.  

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grace Wildeboer returned to the goal for the first time this season, collecting 12 saves for the match, including stopping a whopping eight shots in the first half. The Eagles (0-2) were outshot 20-0 in the first half.

- University of Puget Sound (1-0) scored first, as Kiana Serrao connected in the 13th minute. Despite taking 20 shots in the first half, the Loggers wouldn't find the back of the net again until after the break. Puget Sound continued control in the second half and added three more goals, two coming within four minutes of each other. Ava Cholakian scored the second goal for the Loggers in the 53rd minute, while Radhika Webster Shultz added the third goal in the 57th minute. Puget Sound would score one more in the 83rd minute off a penalty kick.

- The Eagles finished the afternoon with just one shot, coming off the foot of Siobhan Gallagher in the second half.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will play one more game in Spokane, Washington against Whitworth University. Action from Whitworth Soccer Field is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. PDT on Sunday.
