Price, Wildeboer propel Eagles to first win

LOVES PARK, Ill. – Aggressive attack proved to be key, as goals from Ashley Price and Grace Wildeboer gave the Edgewood College Women's Soccer team their first victory of the season over Rockford University. The Eagles outshot the Regents 25-12 in the 3-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Edgewood College (1-6-1, 1-2 NACC) offense proved strong on Wednesday night, taking a total of 25 shots to Rockford's (2-4, 1-2) 12 shots. The Eagles offense and defense worked well to keep the Regents from taking just six shots on goal.

- Despite taking 11 shots in the first half, the Eagles didn't score their first goal of the contest until after the break. Ashley Price scored back-to-back goals coming out of halftime, her first coming in the 52nd minute. The Eagles offense worked in harmony, as passes from both Wildeboer and Marley Satran led to the Price's first collegiate goal.

- Price would score again just eight minutes later, this time netting a turnaround shot from 15 yards out to give the Eagles a 2-0 lead. Mandy Fitzgerald earned the assist on Price's second goal.

- The third and final goal of the evening came from the foot of Grace Wildeboer. The longtime Eagle goalkeeper scoring her first goal in the 78th minute. Wildeboer darted between Regent defenders before netting the third Eagles goal of the evening.

- Overall, Price and Satran led the offensive charge for the Eagles with six shots each. Wildeboer wasn't far behind with five shots.

- Goalkeeper Mackenzie Jones collected six saves, while Morgan Dolphin managed 11 saves for the Regents.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles win goes down as the 12th straight victory over Rockford, with the all-time series record standing at 15-3-1.

- It was a night for firsts for the Eagles, as both Price and Wildeboer scored their first collegiate goals.
