Eagles Women's Golf Preview

The Edgewood College Women's Golf team is coming off its best finish at the NACC Championship since the 2012-13 season as the Eagles placed sixth at last year's championship. Set for year three under head coach Tim Alexander, the Eagles return five players from last year's squad. While they will have to replace Sarah Pophal, a four-time All-NACC honoree, Edgewood College will be led by seniors Lauren Besler and Erika Schoonveld as they look for another successful season on the links.

2021-22 Women's Golf Schedule

The Eagles will play at seven tournaments throughout the fall season, beginning with a two-day event at UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, September 4. Other notable events for Edgewood College in the fall include the home triangular on Sunday, September 26, and the three-day NACC Championships which are set to begin on Friday, October 1.

Tim Alexander
Tim Alexander is in his third season with the Edgewood College Women's Golf program. Last year, he led the Eagles to their highest finish at the NACC meet since the 2012-13 season.

By the Numbers

6 - The Eagles finished sixth at last year's NACC Championship, the highest finish for the program since the 2012-13 season.

3 - The Eagles had three players who were named WGCA All-American Scholars last season - Sarah Pophal, Erika Schoonveld, and Saria Manto. 

22 - As a team, the Eagles finished with the 22nd best GPA in all of Division III last season. The Eagles posted a 3.62 GPA. 

96.43 - Senior Lauren Besler is the top returning player from last year's squad. She averaged a career-best 96.43 over seven rounds during the 2020-21 season. 

13 - Senior Erika Schoonveld will look to make another big leap this season. Schoonveld improved her scoring average by 13 strokes from her sophomore to junior campaign.
