MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Tennis team rolled to another 9-0 NACC win on Friday. The Eagles had little trouble in taking down Alverno College as the win moved them to 7-0 in league play. The win sets up a Saturday showdown for the regular season conference championship as Edgewood College will host Concordia Wisconsin in a battle of NACC unbeatens on Saturday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles (8-0, 7-0 NACC) dropped just one game on Friday in a dominant victory. Edgewood College did not drop a game in doubles play, winning all three doubles matches by 8-0 scores. The No. 1 duo of
Cecile Fuchs and
Ally Verbauwhede remained unbeaten on the season, while
Alyssa Carew and
Kinsey Kessel gained a No. 2 doubles victory. Rounding out the impressive doubles showing was the No. 3 team of
Maggie Burgmeier and
Sydney Verbauwhede.
- In singles play, the Eagles won five matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores and the other match went by a final of 6-1, 6-0. Carew played at No. 1 singles and picked up a 6-0, 6-0 victory. It was the 50th singles win in Carew's impressive Eagles career, and her 109th victory overall.

Ally Verbauwhede and
Lydia Dean rolled to wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
Ellie Murphy gained the No. 4 singles win with Burgmeier winning at the No. 5 spot and Kessel posting the No. 6 singles win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles pushed their impressive NACC regular season winning streak to 29 matches and will go for number 30 and a third-straight NACC regular season crown tomorrow.

- The showdown for the NACC Title will happen tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Quann Park. Both Edgewood College and Concordia Wisconsin are 7-0 in league play and the winner will take home the NACC Regular Season title and be the top seed in next weeks NACC Tournament.
