LISLE, Ill. – The Edgewood College Softball team was swept in a NACC South twinbill at Benedictine on Friday. The Eagles had trouble finding its offense as Benedictine posted an 8-0 victory in game one, followed by a 9-0 final to complete the sweep.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Benedictine (26-11, 15-3 NACC South) led 2-0 in the opener before scoring three times in the fifth and sixth innings to end the game via the eight-run rule. Edgewood College (9-29, 1-17 NACC South) couldn't solve Benedictine's Alexandra Loizon in the opener as she tossed a complete-game one-hitter, striking out eight batters.

Analiese Glawe went the distance for Edgewood College in game one and struck out a pair.
Jenna Sanchez recorded the only hit for Edgewood College, while also stealing a base.
- Taylor Skraba went 2-for-2 with a home run and three runs scored to lead Benedictine in game one.
- Benedictine used an eight-run fourth inning in game two to complete the sweep. They also scored once in the first inning, resulting in a 9-0 final in five innings. It was Megan Fast who worked in the circle in game two, allowing three hits over five innings.
Emily Bloomfield took the loss for Edgewood College.
