Softball Ends 2021 Season with Celebration of Seniors

VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College Softball team celebrated the careers Mackenzie Hoffman and Hanna Fisher on Saturday in a NACC South Doubleheader against Benedictine. Edgewood College dropped the two NACC games, 17-0 and 12-4, the final two contests of the 2021 season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Game one was all Benedictine (28-11, 17-3 NACC South) as they used an 11-run third-inning to win 17-0. Edgewood College managed two hits, both singles in the second inning. Lauren Ludvigsen and Hoffman tallied the singles for Edgewood College.

- Taylor Skraba started the day with a leadoff home run for Benedictine and they never looked back. Alyssa Gill also homered in the opener and drove in three, while Neena Franklin also drove in three. Alexandra Loizon threw a complete game for Benedictine in the opener, striking out six.

- Game two saw Edgewood College have a better showing offensively with nine hits and four runs. Fisher closed her career with a two-hit performance, while Grace Pustina, Ludvigsen, and Haylee Kasuboski all collected two hits as well. Ludvigsen also doubled and drove in two for Edgewood College.

- Benedictine had more big innings at the plate, including a six-run fourth inning and ended both games in five innings via the eight-run rule. Franklin and Sara Allison each drove in three runs, while Allison and Skraba homered.

THE SENIORS
- Hoffman and Fisher left their mark on the Eagles with tremendous leadership and great play on the diamond. Thank you to both seniors for great careers with the Edgewood College Softball program.
