FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Edgewood College Baseball team dropped a pair of games against Marian University on Sunday. The Eagles dropped the first contest by a score of 4-3 and the second 9-3. Edgewood College struggled to find timely hitting in game one and couldn't keep up with the Sabres pitching staff in game two.
SABRES 4, EAGLES 3 – GAME ONE
- Edgewood College (9-20, 3-9 NACC) mounted a comeback in game one, as Maximo Alanis scored on a single down the right field line from Bryan Niznik to bring the Eagles within one of the Sabres. Despite out hitting Marian University (13-17, 9-3 NACC) 11-7, the Eagles couldn't push runners across the plate in the final three innings.
- Edgewood College scored first, as Joseph Kalafut scored Niznik from third on a single to right field. Kyle Sagan would score the second run of the inning on a sacrifice fly to right field. From there the Sabres bats took over, scoring two runs in the third, and adding one more in both the fourth and fifth inning.
- Niznik went two-for-three at the plate, while Connor Goodwin added a triple.
- Will Mossa pitched all eight innings for the Eagles, colleting one strikeout. Noah Imrie earned the win for the Sabres, pitching six innings and striking out three. Connor Medvecz collected the save, striking out four batters through three innings pitched.
SABRES 9, EAGLES 3 – GAME TWO
- In game two the Eagles struggled to figure out the Muskies pitching, as the Muskies starting pitcher Jonah Landowski struck out 10 through 7.2 innings pitched. Kalafut, Sagan, and Slonim each collected two hits in the nightcap.
- Once again, the Eagles got on the board first, with Kalafut belting his seventh home run of the season over the right field fence in the first inning. Edgewood College would not score again until the eighth inning, when Semrad scored Kalafut on a single down the right field line. The Eagles took a 3-2 lead over the Sabres when Prindle scored from third on a miscue by the Marian defense.
- The Marian bats took control in the bottom of the eighth frame, scoring seven runs, all of which were earned.
- Ben Collier pitched seven innings for the Eagles, collecting two strikeouts. Mac Doherty earned the win for the Muskies, pitching 1.1 innings and striking out two.

- Edgewood College will take on Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, May 1. Doubleheader action is set to begin at 12:00 p.m. in Milwaukee.
