VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College Softball battled Rockford University in a NACC South doubleheader on Saturday at Ceniti Park. The Eagles were one strike away from victory in game one, but the Regents rallied for a win and carried that momentum over to game two, sweeping the Eagles in the league twinbill. Rockford won the opener, 4-3, before completing the sweep with a 5-1 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rockford (17-13, 7-7 NACC South) was down to its final strike and trailed 3-2 in the opener. That is when the Regents received a two-out double from Paige Korsan, plating Breanna Collins to tie the game at 3-3. Gretchen Schrewbe the singled in Korsan to give the Regents the lead.
- The Eagles (9-25, 1-13 NACC South) got the leadoff hitter on in the bottom of the seventh off a single by
Jenna Sanchez. Unfortunately, the Regents turned a double play and finished off the game on the next hitter in a heartbreaking opening loss for Edgewood College.

Hanna Fisher was dialed in at the dish all day, going 3-for-3 with two RBI in the opener.
Analiese Glawe added an RBI double in the sixth inning, which gave Edgewood College a 3-2 lead at the time. Schrewbe hit a solo home run for Rockford to lead off the game.

Lauren Ludvigsen pitched well for the Eagles throwing a complete game and allowing just three earned runs. Her counterpart, Rylee Klema, also went the distance and gave up three runs, two earned, with four strikeouts.
- Game two saw the Regents go up 2-0 in the top of the first on another first-inning home run, this one a two-blast to left center by Emily Cox.
- The Eagles were kept off the scoreboard until their final out as Fisher roped an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh, plating
Mackenzie Doherty. Fisher went 3-for-4 in game two, finishing the doubleheader with six hits.
Haylee Kasuboski added a 3-for-3 performance.

Grace Pustina worked six innings in the circle, allowing five runs, four earned.
Analiese Glawe worked a scoreless seventh for Edgewood College. Mikayla Seay worked in and out of trouble in her complete-game victory as she scattered nine hits but allowed just one unearned run.
