VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College Baseball team welcomed Concordia University Wisconsin to Stampfl Field on Sunday afternoon for a NACC North doubleheader. HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opener saw the Eagles (8-17, 2-6 NACC) score six times in the bottom of the eighth to take an 11-10 lead into the ninth inning. The Falcons had one last response, however, scoring two times in the top of the ninth to secure the 12-11 victory.
- Edgewood College was patient at the plate and took advantage of some wild CUW (13-9, 4-4 NACC) pitching to score 11 runs in game one. The Eagles walked nine times and were hit by six pitches in the game, while adding 10 hits at the plate.
Adam Cairo went 3-for-6 to pace the offense, while
Kyle Semrad posted a 2-for-3 line at the plate.

- The Falcons totaled 17 hits in game one and did most of their damage in a six-run fourth inning, all with two outs. Sean Tillmon went 4-for-5 to pace the CUW offense in the opener.
-
Eric Nelson was the tough-luck pitcher of record for the Eagles after not allowing an earned run in the ninth inning.
Ben Collier threw the ball extremely well on Sunday for the Eagles, tossing 3.2 innings and allowing one unearned run.
- Game two was all Falcons, who scored in each of their final five at-bats. CUW plated one run in the third three in the fourth, one in the fifth, three in sixth, and two more in the seventh as the game ended after seven innings of play.
-
Joseph Kalafut collected two hits, including a double to pace the Eagles offense in the nightcap. Johannes Haakenson had three hits and two RBI to lead the Falcons. Kalafut was also the Eagles starter and went four innings with four strikeouts.
