Eagles Score Game Two Win, Split NACC Doubleheader at CUW

MEQUON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Baseball team scored 15 runs in game two of a league doubleheader at Concordia University Wisconsin Saturday to secure a split with the Falcons. The Eagles won the second contest, 15-7, after falling 15-2 in the opener.

GAME TWO – EAGLES 15, FALCONS 7
- A trio of Kyles led the way in game two. At the plate it was the Eagles (8-15, 2-4 NACC) five and six hitters, Kyle Sagan and Kyle Semrad, who had big games. Sagan went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI, while scoring three times. Semrad added three hits of his own, going 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI and a run scored.

- On the mound, Kyle Jungers secured his first career victory by throwing five innings. He struck out four batters. Nick Holland was outstanding in earning the save as he gave up just one hit over the final four innings with a pair of strikeouts.

- The Eagles and Falcons (11-9, 2-4 NACC) went back-and-forth early. Trailing 7-6 heading into the sixth inning, Edgewood College scored twice in the top of the sixth to take the lead for good. Joseph Kalafut singled in Jacob Slonim to tie the game, while Sagan walked with the bases loaded to give the Eagles the lead.

- Edgewood College would put the game away in the seventh inning with a seven-run frame. Adam Cairo and Max Orput had two-RBI doubles in the frame, while both Semrad and Sagan delivered run-scoring singles. Cairo finished the game with three hits, three runs scored and the two RBI, while Orput added two hits and the two runs driven in.

- Alex Prindle added a triple and Kalafut collected two hits for the Eagles, who totaled 16 hits as a team in the second contest. Connor Goodwin doubled in the contest as well.

GAME ONE – FALCONS 15, EAGLES 2
- Game one was all Concordia Wisconsin, who scored eight times in the bottom of the second, building an 8-1 lead early. The Eagles did score in the first inning and added a run in the top of the seventh, but the Falcons scored the 15 runs in between.

- Kyle Kosobucki had the big game for CUW in the opener, belting two home runs and driving in four runs.

- Cairo and Semrad both collected two hits for the Eagles, one of Cairo's being a triple. Slonim added a double for Edgewood College.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Eagles have shown their ability to have big games offensively this season. They now have six games with 10-plus runs scored and are 6-0 in those contests.

- The Eagles and Falcons will continue the weekend series with two games at "The Chuck" tomorrow. First pitch from Verona, Wisconsin is set for 1 p.m.
