MINNEAPOLIS – The Edgewood College Softball team ran its winning streak to four with another non-conference sweep on Friday evening. The Eagles rolled to a 9-0 victory in the opener over Augsburg College before using an eight-run sixth inning to complete the sweep with an 8-2 victory in the nightcap.
GAME ONE – EAGLES 9, AUGGIES 0
- The Eagles (4-2) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and never looked back in the opener. Edgewood College would add four more runs in the third and one in the fourth and ended the game via the eight-run rule.

Emily Bloomfield was outstanding in the circle, tossing a complete-game one-hitter for the Eagles. Bloomfield was also great at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI single in the first inning.

Hanna Fisher started the Eagles party on Friday with a triple to leadoff the bottom of the first and finished 3-for-3.
Jenna Sanchez added a triple and drove in two runs and
Mackenzie Hoffman finished the game 2-for-2.
- As a team, Edgewood College collected 13 hits in the opener with nine different players gaining at least one hit.
GAME TWO – EAGLES 8, AUGGIES 2
- Just when it looked like the Eagles bats might go silent in game two, they woke up just in time with a huge eight-run sixth inning. Bloomfield got the Eagles on the board with an RBI single and Sanchez and
Mackenzie Doherty added two-RBI hits in the frame.

Analiese Glawe got the win in the circle, throwing four dominant innings in relief. Glawe struck out four batters and allowed one hit.
Grace Pustina got the start and gave up two runs in three innings with three strikeouts.
- Bloomfield paced the Eagles offense with two more hits, while eight different Eagles scored a run. The Eagles finished with nine hits and again the balance was there with eight different players having at least one hit.

- Edgewood College will play two more early tomorrow morning against Bethel University. The first game is set for an 8 a.m. start.
