MILWAUKEE – The Edgewood College Women's Soccer team went on the road for the first time this season Wednesday night to take on a talented MSOE team in league play. The Eagles struggled to get much going offensively as the host Raiders secured a 4-0 win with four second-half goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
Grace Wildeboer tied her career high with 18 saves for the match, including stopping all eight shots she faced in the first half. The Eagles (2-2-0, 2-2-0 NACC) were outshot 15-1 in the first half.
- MSOE (4-1-0, 4-1-0 NACC) continued to control possession in the second half, but this time the Raiders were able to get on the scoreboard with four scores. Brooke Zidek had the first, ultimately the game-winner, in the 52nd minute. Nikki Ratts and Olivia Carroll added goals for MSOE as well, while the third goal was an own goal.
- The Eagles finished the night with just one shot, coming off the foot of
Aubrey Tarmann in the first half. Wildeboer added 10 saves in the second half to finish with 18 as she closes in on the Eagles all-time career record. She now has 421 saves, just five shy of Meghan Magner's (1998-01) 426.
- The Eagles did end the night with three corner kicks compared to five for MSOE.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles will return home Friday for a matinee against Lakeland University. Make sure to get there before the match starts at 2 p.m. as at approximately 1:50 there will be a recognition for the Eagles three seniors –
Anja Von Klopp, Tarmann, and Wildeboer.
