VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College Softball team played its first home doubleheader of the season on Saturday welcoming Wisconsin Lutheran College for two non-conference games. It was the visiting Warriors who came away with the sweep with final scores of 9-1 and 9-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wisconsin Lutheran (5-2) got rolling right away with a nine-run first inning in game one. The Warriors scored eight of those runs before an out was recorded.
- Edgewood College (5-9) got on the board with a run in the second, but that would be all the scoring the remainder of the game.
Mackenzie Doherty delivered the Eagles run with an RBI single, plating
Emily Bloomfield.
- Seven different Eagles collected hits in the opener with
Hanna Fisher roping a leadoff double.
Grace Pustina threw all five innings for Edgewood College and tossed four-consecutive scoreless frames to close the game.
- In game two, the Warriors jumped out to a 5-0 lead with a run in the first and two runs in the top of the second and third innings. The Eagles scored twice in the bottom of the third but the Warriors scored the next four, two each in the fourth and fifth frames.
- Fisher paced the Eagles offense with two hits, scoring a run and driving in another. Doherty added two hits as well, while scoring once.

Analiese Glawe threw the first five innings for the Eagles and Bloomfield tossed two scoreless frames in relief.
- Ashley Corley had the big game for the Warriors, belting a pair of home runs in the second contest.
