PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Basketball team struggled to slow down the high-scoring Lakeland University squad on Friday night, falling in a NACC battle, 114-83. Aiden Polzin was a main reason for the Muskies offensive outburst, scoring 46 points of 15-of-23 shooting.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lakeland (5-4, 4-3 NACC) led 49-40 at halftime, but really turned it on in the second half with 65 points over the final 20 minutes of play. The Muskies shot 52.1 percent (38-for-73) from the floor and 46.9 percent (15-for-32) from 3-point range with Polzin going 15-for-23 and 6-of-9 from long range. Polzin also made all 10 of his free throws.
- The Eagles (6-6, 3-4 NACC) were solid offensively as well, scoring 83 points and shooting 50.8 percent (33-for-65) from the floor. Edgewood College struggled from 3-point range, however, making just 4-of-16.

Eli Hartjes,
Ryan Buss, and
Jake Schroeckenthaler each scored 13 points to pace the Eagles with Buss finishing the game shooting 5-of-7.
Jake Negus added 10 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Hartjes and Negus each tied for the Eagles lead with five rebounds as Edgewood College was out-rebounded 40-31 on Friday night.
- The setback drops the Eagles to 3-4 in NACC play as they are now in a tie with MSOE for fourth place in the NACC North standings. Both teams are just a game back of second place, where Concordia Wisconsin and Lakeland sit with 4-3 records.
THE OPPOSITION
- Polzin's 46 points was a NACC record and the highest scoring output in a Division III game this season. He added 11 rebounds in his 31 minutes off the bench for Lakeland.
- Cam Jaeger added 17 points, while Jequan Pegeese (11), Earl Lewis (11), and Trenton Nickel (10) all joined in with double-figure scoring.

- The Eagles and Muskies will meet again tomorrow at Lakeland with action scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
