MEQUON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team locked down their fifth NACC win of the season and sixth straight victory with a final score of 79-58 over Concordia University Wisconsin. Four Eagles scored in double figures on the night, as Alyssa Lemirande led the way with 16 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (6-2, 5-0 NACC) saw their best offensive effort in the second period as a 10-3 run gave them a comfortable 14-point lead. The Eagles went into the locker room with a 17-point lead on 10-for-14 shooting from the floor and 3-for-4 shooting from beyond the arc in the second period.
- The Eagles bench made all the difference on Wednesday night, as the Eagles bench scored 37 points compared to just 13 by Concordia Wisconsin (4-3, 2-2 NACC).
- The Eagles biggest lead of the night came in the final 10 minutes, as Jennifer Freeman knocked down an easy three-pointer to give the Eagles a 24-point lead (74-50).
- Overall, the Eagles saw their second-best shooting performance of the season as they ended the game with a 50 percent shooting percentage, adding an 88.9 shooting percentage from the charity stripe.
- Four Eagles scored in double figures on the night, with Alyssa Lemirande leading the way scoring 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting from the floor and 2-for-2 shooting from beyond the arc. Emma Klein was not far behind, compiling 13 points for the Eagles. Paige Banks and Diamond Pikulyk added double-digit scoring from off the bench, with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
- Bria Lemirande recorded 11 rebounds in the victory. The junior added seven points and four assists on the night.
THE OPPOSITION
- Clara Chambers led the way for the Falcons, scoring 23 points. Camryn Szolyga added 10 points, while Lindsey Smitsdorff pulled down 10 rebounds. Hannah Boettcher dished out four assists for Concordia Wisconsin.
