Regents Down Eagles in NACC Battle

MADISON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team dropped a 58-47 NACC contest against Rockford University on Tuesday night inside the Todd Wehr Edgedome. The Eagles struggled on the offensive end with 24 turnovers in the league setback.

REGENTS 58, EAGLES 47
- The Eagles (0-8, 0-3 NACC) struggled from the start as Rockford built a 37-18 lead before halftime. Edgewood College turned it over 16 times in the first half and made just 6-for-24 (25 percent) from the floor, shooting 3-of-12 in each of the first two quarters. Rockford jumped out to a 7-0 lead and led throughout the entire contest.

- Rockford (5-3, 2-1 NACC) received a strong first-half performance from Anaya Davis, who produced 11 points and eight rebounds, while adding four steals on the defensive end. Emma Klein and Eden Bonser led the Eagles in the opening half with five points each.

- The Regents lead would grow to as many as 21 points late in the third quarter and they entered the fourth quarter with a 17-point (44-27) advantage.

- Edgewood College played its best basketball in the fourth quarter, with Mady Pahl providing a spark off the bench. Pahl entered the game midway through the third quarter and played 11:47 in the second half, scoring 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting. She added four rebounds as the Eagles were plus-seven in her minutes on the court. Sydney Ignoffo also played well in the fourth quarter with a made 3-point shot, two rebounds, and two assists.

- The Eagles got within single digits in the fourth quarter, even getting as close as six with 3:38 left after a made basket by Pahl. Rockford would respond with a 5-0 run to go up 53-42 as the Regents closed out the league win.

- The Eagles finished the game with 24 turnovers and shot just 28.6 percent (16-for-56) from the floor. The 3-point shooting woes continued as well for Edgewood College, who made just 3-of-17 from deep. Rockford committed 13 turnovers, while shooting 36.4 percent (24-for-66) from the floor and 35.7 percent (5-for-14) from deep.

- Davis finished the game with 21 points and 13 rebounds, leading all players in both categories. She also led all players with seven steals. Audrina Terhune added 15 points, seven rebounds, and four assists for the Regents.

- Pahl's 11 points led the Eagles, while Diamond Pikulyk added 10. Emma Klein finished with nine points and 10 rebounds with the Eagles ending the game plus-12 on the boards (49-37). Edgewood College also blocked 11 shots in the contest with Pikulyk, Klein, Vivian Guerrero, and Jazz Seymore each blocking two shots.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Rockford snapped a five-game skid in the series with the win on Tuesday night. The last win for the Regents over the Eagles came on February 4, 2017.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will look to bounce back with a conference road game at Alverno on Saturday night. Edgewood College and the Inferno will tip off at 7 p.m. from Reiman Gymnasium in Milwaukee.
