St. Norbert Pulls Away from Eagles in Second Half

VERONA, Wis. – St. Norbert College scored two early second-half goals, breaking a halftime tie, to take down the Edgewood College Women's Soccer team on Wednesday evening. The Eagles struck twice in an exciting first half, but couldn't keep things rolling in the second half, resulting in the 4-2 final.

GREEN KNIGHTS 4, EAGLES 2
- Edgewood College (2-8-1, 3-4-0 NACC) struck first with a 19th minute goal off a free kick by Siobhan Gallagher. Gallagher set up from about 25 yards out and placed it perfectly in the upper left corner for the 1-0 Eagles lead. St. Norbert College (5-6-1, 4-2-1 NACC) answered just 1:31 later on the first of two goals by Kait Schweitzer.

- Grace Wildeboer put the Eagles back in front in the 32nd minute with her second goal of the season. Gallagher sent a corner that led to a scrum in the box. After the Green Knights tried to play it out, Mandy Fitzgerald was able to keep possession and set up Wildeboer with the easy tap in to put the Eagles back in front.

- St. Norbert College scored with 13 seconds left in the half to even things before the break when Hanna Lech struck from 20 yards out and the Green Knights used that momentum to keep rolling in the second half. Grace Taylor scored 2:12 into the second half with Schweitzer providing an assist and Schweitzer added her second goal of the night in the 53rd minute off a pass from Katelyn Kane.

- Hailey Corcoran and Mackenzie Jones traded roles on Wednesday with Corcoran getting the start and Jones coming in for the second half at keeper. Corcoran made six saves and Jones stopped three shots, with both players allowing two goals. Lilly Collins made four saves in securing the win for St. Norbert.
