Stars hold Eagles at bay

VERONA, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Soccer team fell to Dominican University 7-0 on Saturday evening. In the NACC battle Edgewood College struggled to stop the fast-paced Stars offense.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Dominican University (11-3-1, 8-2-1 NACC) wasted little time building a lead, scoring in the eighth minute of the match. Jesus Lopez found the back of the net off a pass from Vincente Castro to give the Stars a 1-0 lead. The Stars would score three more times before the end of the first period. Vincente Castro added the second Dominican goal at 19:54, Giacomo Parrino scored in the 29th minute, and Dylan Alic gave the Stars a 4-0 lead going into the break with a score in the 42nd minute.

- Matt Skorupa would add the Stars fifth goal just three minutes into the second half of action. John Cronnolly scored the sixth and seventh goals for Dominican University. Overall, the Stars outshot the Eagles 38-6, with five of the Eagles shots coming in the second half.

- Edgewood College (0-14, 0-11 NACC) struggled offensively, taking a total of six shots, three on goal. Noah Mesdjian led the way with two shots, while Jonathan Alfaro, Hunter Collins, and Sal Genco each added a shot on goal.

- Jack Gentner finished the night with six saves for the Eagles. Daniel Dominguez earned the win for Dominican with three saves.

- The Eagles will conclude the 2021 season with senior night on Wednesday, October 27. Edgewood College will host Marian University at Edgewood College Field at Reddan Park at 7:00 p.m.
