DE PERE, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Tennis team posted its 35-straight NACC regular season win with a 9-0 victory over St. Norbert College on Saturday afternoon. Edgewood College made quick work of the newest member of the NACC with three convincing doubles wins and six straight-set wins in singles play.
EAGLES 9, GREEN KNIGHTS 0
- The Eagles (5-4, 5-0 NACC) began the day with three statement wins in doubles play. Edgewood College dropped just two games in the doubles wins, which featured 8-0 victories by the No. 2 and No. 3 teams.
- The No. 2 duo of
Alyssa Carew and
Ellie Murphy rolled to the 8-0 win, which was Carew's 67th career doubles victory, moving her one doubles win away from tying the Eagles all-time record (Kelsey Steinhorst, 2006-10).
- The No. 3 team of
Gigi Kuecker and
Callie Belschner added an 8-0 win of their own, while
Cecile Fuchs and
Maddy Coopmans posted an 8-2 win in No. 1 doubles.
- Singles play was more of the same with the Eagles completing the sweep of St. Norbert (1-6, 1-5 NACC). Fuchs, Carew, Murphy, and Coopmans all added their second wins of the day for Edgewood College.
- Fuchs won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Carew went 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot, and Murpy posted a 6-2, 6-1 win in her No. 3 singles bout. Coopmans added a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles.
- Playing only singles on Saturday was
Alina Tweet (No. 4) and
Karina Manders (No. 6). Tweet won 6-4, 6-3, while Manders netted a 6-1, 6-0 win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The last four Eagles wins have been by 9-0 scores as they have rolled the competition in the NACC thus far. Edgewood College has won 43-of-45 matches in their five NACC duals this season.

- The Eagles will look to continue their NACC streak with another league contest tomorrow at home against Illinois Tech. The match is set to start at 11:30 a.m. at Quann Park.
