MONTGOMERY, Ill. – The Edgewood College Men's Soccer team dropped a NACC road tilt at Aurora University on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles couldn't get much offense against the Spartans, resulting in a 2-0 final.
SPARTANS 2, EAGLES 0
- Aurora (4-4-2, 2-2-1 NACC) struck in the 11th minute in what would eventually go down as the game-winner. Enrique Gonzalez scored off assists by Raul Magana and Cristian Correa. The 1-0 lead would hold until the 69th minute as the Spartans added a second-half score for the 2-0 final. Anthony Marmolejo had the second score with Magana and Sal Garcia providing assists.
- Edgewood College (0-8-0, 0-5-0 NACC) finished the match with six shots, three of those on goal.
Tyler Nelson had two of the shots with one of his finding the Spartans keeper, Jalen Depenbrock.
Brian Root and
Jared Podnar added shots on goal for Edgewood College.
- Jack Genter turned away four Spartans shots as he played all 90 minutes at keeper. Aurora finished with a 23-6 edge in total shots and a 6-3 edge in shots on goal.

- The Eagles will visit St. Norbert College for a NACC showdown on Wednesday night. The match from Schneider Stadium in De Pere, Wisconsin is set for a 7 p.m. start.
