Eagles Unable to Catch Muskies in NACC Road Match

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Lakeland University took advantage playing a man up for the final 38 minutes in a NACC match with the Edgewood College Men's Soccer team on Wednesday night. The Muskies broke a scoreless tie shortly after an Eagles red card, the first of two second-half scores in the 2-0 final at Taylor Field.

MUSKIES 2, EAGLES 0
- The Eagles (0-11, 0-8 NACC) were whistled for a red card in the 52nd minute and Lakeland (4-6-2, 3-5-1 NACC) responded just four seconds later with a goal directly off the free kick. Michael Barragan provided the game-winner for the Muskies from 28 yards out.

- Edgewood College played tough down the stretch with just 10 players on the pitch, but the Muskies would tack on an insurance goal with just under four minutes remaining. Suleiman Haji connected on the score with Michecadet Gethand providing the assist.

- Jack Gentner had a solid game for the Eagles in goal, recording seven saves and keeping Edgewood college within striking distance for much of the night. Five of Gentner's saves actually came in the first half when the Eagles were at full strength, as the team still put forth a strong defensive effort in the second half as well.

- Tyler Nelson and Noah Mesdjian each ripped four shots for the Eagles, two of Mesdjians ending up on goal. Zach Heiman recorded four saves for his clean sheet for the Muskies.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will continue on their current three-match road swing with a trip to Chicago to face Illinois Tech on Saturday afternoon. The match will follow the women's match in the NACC doubleheader and the men's contest is slated for a 3:30 p.m. start.
