MILWAUKEE, Wis – The Edgewood College Women's Basketball team put together their first NACC win of the season, to improve to 2-2, 1-0 NACC. The Eagles 65-54 win over MSOE came behind a double-double from Bria Lemirande and a strong scoring effort from Emma Klein.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bria Lemirande was dominant on Friday, leading the Eagles with 13 points, connecting on two of three shots from beyond the arc. The junior added 13 rebounds through 29 minutes of action for her first double-double of the season.
- Edgewood College came out strong and took a quick 16-4 lead through the first six minutes of action, behind seven points from Klein. The Eagles went into the second period with a 19-point lead (29-10), off a first period that saw 76.92 percent shooting from the floor, 66.67 percent shooting from behind the arc, and 87.5 percent shooting from the charity stripe.
- The Eagles took their biggest lead of the game just two minutes into the fourth period, as Lexi Walter connected for two for a 22-point margin (57-35).
- The Eagles pulled down 41 rebounds in comparison to 30 by the Raiders. Bria Lemirande led Edgewood College with a whopping 13 rebounds.
- Edgewood College managed a balanced offense on Friday evening, connecting on 26 points in the paint. The Eagles added 15 points from long and connected on 16-of-24 from the charity stripe. Klein added a 5-for-9 shooting performance, good for 12 points. The sophomore also pulled down seven rebounds. Parker Fetherston managed 10 points for the Eagles, six coming from the charity stripe.
- In total, 10 Eagles players scored in the contest. Alyssa Lemirande added seven points and three assists for the Eagles.
THE OPPOSITION
- Amy Reiser scored 17 points to lead all players for the Raiders and added eight rebounds. Skylar Flanagan added 11 points and five rebounds.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles will head back to Milwaukee, Wis. tomorrow (Saturday) to take on MSOE once again. The conference contest is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Kern Center.
