MIDDLETON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Tennis team won a thrilling match against St. Norbert College on Friday night at Hitters Sportsplex. The Eagles won two of three in doubles play and picked up three singles wins for the 5-4 victory, the first of the season for Edgewood College.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles (1-6) two doubles wins both were 8-7 victories on Friday.
Marius Dornhagen Schradermeier and
Jackson Venske gained the 8-7 win at No. 1 doubles, while the No. 2 pairing of
Tommy Ebben and
Caden Nelson also posted an 8-7 victory.
- Dornhagen Schradermeier, Nelson, and Ebben all moved to 2-0 on the day with victories in singles play. Nelson had the most dominant win of the trio, a 6-0, 6-1 No. 2 singles win.
- Ebben added a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles for Edgewood College to complete his perfect day.
- Dornhagen Schradermeier had the most thrilling win in singles play, going to a third set tiebreaker. He won his first set 6-2 before falling 5-7 in set two. He then finished off his win with a 10-4 victory in the tiebreaker to secure the win for Edgewood College.
