MIDDLETON, Wis. – The Edgewood College Men's Tennis team played at home for the second-straight day on Saturday, this time welcoming Augustana College to Hitters Sportsplex. After defeating St. Norbert last night, the Eagles were unable to make it two in a row as Augustana came away with an 8-1 victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles (1-7) win came at No. 1 doubles where the pairing of
Marius Dornhagen Schradermeier and
Jackson Venske impressed on Saturday. The duo netted an 8-5 win. The Vikings (8-2) won the other two matches in doubles play, taking a 2-1 advantage into the singles contests.
- In singles play, Augustana controlled the matches, winning five of six in straight sets.
- The only match that needed a third set tiebreaker was the No. 6 singles bout.
Conner Dugan battled the Vikings Ryan Sullivan with Sullivan ultimately prevailing, 6-2, 5-7, 10-6.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles will begin their Spring Trip slate on Monday, March 16. Edgewood College is set to play several matches in Hilton Head, South Carolina during that week, beginning with a Monday matchup against Ramapo.
