Bria Lemirande notches second career triple-double in Eagles win over Stars

MADISON, Wis - Bria Lemirande continued to make history Wednesday night, recording her second triple-double in one week. Edgewood College rocked the Edgedome, defeating Dominican University 73-45. Three players scored in double-digits for the Eagles, as they completed the season sweep over the Stars.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bria Lemirande collected her second triple-double, as the Middleton, Wis. native finished with 14 rebounds, 13 points, and 10 assists. She reached double figures in all three categories with an assist to sister Alyssa Lemirande with 5:20 remaining in the final period.

- Edgewood College (19-2, 14-2 NACC) got off to a rocky start, as Dominican University (14-7, 10-6 NACC) got off to a quick 6-0 lead off back-to-back three-pointers. The Eagles responded quickly, going on a 13-0 in which Emma Klein and Parker Fetherston connected from beyond the arc, putting the Eagles up 17-11 going into the second period.

- Dominican couldn't slow down the Eagles offensively or defensively. Edgewood College finished with 12 fast break points and 44 points in the paint. They also capitalized coming off the steal, collecting 24 points off turnovers. Lexi Walter added eight rebounds and Mia Edwards chipped in with six.

- Edgewood College dominated the rebounding game, collecting a total of 52 boards, as compared to just 35 by the Stars. Most impressively, the Eagles notched 21 offensive boards, seven coming from Bria Lemirande.

- Alyssa Lemirande and Emma Klein joined Bria Lemirande in double figures, with 19 and 12 respectively. Parker Fetherston notched nine points, connecting on two-of-three from long.

- The Eagles spread the ball well, dishing out 20 assists in the NACC victory. Bria Lemirande led with 10 assists, while Alyssa Lemirande added five.


BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Bria Lemirande continues to make her mark in the Edgewood College history books, collecting her second triple-double in one week. Her first came on Thursday, January 30, as the sophomore made history as the first women's basketball player to record a triple double. Lemirande also goes down as the only known Edgewood College Basketball player to earn two triple-doubles.

- With four regular season games remaining, the Eagles 19th win ties for second most wins in a season. The 1987-88 squad and 2008-09 squad both finished with 19 wins in a season. The Eagles 2004-05 squad owns the program record for wins in a season, with 21. 

THE OPPOSITION
- Amari Stafford led the Stars with 14 points, connecting on 4-of-8 from beyond the arc. Alexi Hoskins wasn't far behind with 10 points. Hoskins added 10 rebounds to complete the double-double, and collected four steals.

- Nyema Burns pulled down 10 rebounds for Dominican and collected six blocks.


UP NEXT
- The Eagles will take on MSOE for the second time this season on Saturday. Action from Milwaukee, Wis. is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
