Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Pioneers hold Eagles at Bay

MADISON, Wis. – On a cloudy afternoon at Breese Stevens Field the Edgewood College Women's Soccer team was shutout by Grinnell College 0-1. The contest only saw a total of 13 shots between both teams, with eight coming in the second half.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Grinnell College (3-3-1) scored the only goal of the match in the 21st minute of competition. Alyssa Radakovich put her second goal of the season in the bottom left corner of the net, off a pass from Anna Engelhardt.

- Edgewood College (2-5-1) struggled offensively in the first half, as Carolyn Evers took the Eagles only shot. Offensive power was much greater for the Eagles in the second half, as Maddy Solder took three shots and Shannon Kaufmann took two shots of her own. Overall, the Eagles outshot the Pioneers 7-6 on the afternoon.

- Goalkeeper Grace Wildeboer stopped three shots from the Pioneers offense, while Elizabeth Hunt made four saves for Grinnell College.

- Overall, most of the contest was played in the middle of the field, with the Eagles spending 73 percent of the contest and the Pioneers spending 65 percent of the contest around midfield.

- Edgewood College will kickoff conference action against Marian University on Wednesday. Action is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. in Fond du Lac, Wis.
