KOHLER, Wis. – The Edgewood College Women's Tennis team won its third-straight NACC match by a 9-0 score, this one over Lakeland University Sunday at Kohler Sports Core. The Eagles were dominant in the win, dropping just three games over seven matches played. Edgewood College also won two matches via default Sunday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In doubles play, the Eagles won the two played matches by a combined score of 16-1. The No. 1 duo of
Sydney Verbauwhede and
Ally Verbauwhede rolled, 8-1, while the No. 2 duo of
Alicia Picard and
Kinsey Kessel cruised to an 8-0 win.
Alyssa Carew and
Kai Heineman won by default at No. 3 doubles.
- The Eagles were just as impressive in singles play, winning three matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Carew (No. 2 singles), Heineman (No. 4), and Picard (No. 5) all posted 6-0, 6-0 victories.
- Both Verbauwhede's dropped just one game in their easy wins. Sydney went 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Ally posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.
- The final singles win was Kessel at No. 6, a victory via default.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Through four NACC matches this season, the Eagles have won three times via a 9-0 score and once, 8-1. Edgewood College has now 17-straight NACC regular season matches.
