Eagles fall short against Falcons in Texas

RICHARDSON, Texas. – Sophomore Lizzy Langer scored in the 34th minute, but two early goals from Pfeiffer University was too much as the Edgewood College Women's Soccer team lost to the Falcons, 2-1, on Saturday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- All of the scoring came in the first half of competition, as Dayanna Riera found the back of the net in the 19th minute, giving Pfeiffer University (3-1) a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later Riera would score again, giving the Falcons a comfortable 2-0 lead.

- The Edgewood College (1-4-1) offense was determined to score before the first half was over. Langer booted the ball into the Falcons net, assisted by Anna Fischer.

- The Eagles offense was outshot 13-7 by the Falcons, with just four shots on goal. Goalkeeper Grace Wildeboer continued to stay strong, making five saves for the Eagles, holding the Falcons to just two goals on the night.

UP NEXT
- The Eagles will return home to take on Eureka College on Tuesday. Action is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. following the Men's Soccer game at Goodman Sports Complex.
