WHEATON, Ill. – The Edgewood College Women's Tennis team faced its toughest test of the season to date in a road match at Wheaton Friday. The Eagles, who will play four times over the course of the weekend, fell Friday by a 9-0 score.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles (4-2) fell behind 3-0 after doubles play. The closest match in doubles was the No. 1 battle where sisters
Sydney Verbauwhede and
Ally Verbauwhede dropped an 8-5 decision.
- Singles play saw Wheaton win all six matches in straight sets. Both Verbauwhede's,
Lydia Dean, and
Alyssa Carew all took one of their sets to a 6-4 score.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles will return to conference play tomorrow with a pair of road matches. Edgewood College visits Alverno College at 10 a.m. and then Wisconsin Lutheran at 2 p.m.
