LAKE FOREST, Ill. – After a 2-0 start to the season Friday, the Edgewood College Women's Tennis team suffered its first setback of the season Saturday at Lake Forest College. The Eagles won once in doubles and twice in singles play, but ultimately fell to the Foresters by a 6-3 score.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In doubles play it was the No. 2 duo of
Alicia Picard and
Kai Heineman who gained a win for the Eagles. Picard and Heineman need a tiebreaker to gain the win, edging the Foresters No. 2 team by a 8-7 (7-4) score.
- Heineman finished 2-0 on the day as she added a win at No. 3 singles to improve her singles record to 3-0 this season. She ended up winning by retirement, although she was leading 6-0, 5-3 at the time her opponent left the match.

Alyssa Carew also moved to 3-0 in singles play with a No. 2 singles victory. Carew won in straight sets for the third-straight time, gaining a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
- Lake Forest won the remaining two doubles matches and gained four wins in singles play, all in straight sets, to pick up the victory Saturday.
UP NEXT
- The Eagles are set for their home opener next Saturday when they host both MSOE and UW-River Falls. The NACC match against MSOE is set for a 10 a.m. start at Quann Park, while the match against UW-River Falls will begin at 4 p.m.
