DEFIANCE, Ohio – The season began for the Edgewood College Men's Soccer team with a neutral site battle against Hiram College. The Eagles received a second-half goal from Sean Surtees, but were unable to slow down the Terriers, falling by a 5-1 final.   

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Eagles came out strong in the second half as Surtees netted the first goal of the season just 2:54 after the break. Unfortunately for the Eagles, Hiram would respond with three unanswered goals for the 5-1 final. Surtees goal came on a penalty kick.

- Keagan Le'Roux scored two of the Hiram goals on Saturday, both coming in the second half.

- Edgewood College was outshot, 21-13, for the match. The Eagles and Terriers each put 10 shots up in the second half.

- Brendon Martin finished the match with seven saves for Edgewood College. His counterpart, CJ Keith, totaled six saves.
