DEFIANCE, Ohio – The season began for the Edgewood College Men's Soccer team with a neutral site battle against Hiram College. The Eagles received a second-half goal from
Sean Surtees, but were unable to slow down the Terriers, falling by a 5-1 final.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Eagles came out strong in the second half as Surtees netted the first goal of the season just 2:54 after the break. Unfortunately for the Eagles, Hiram would respond with three unanswered goals for the 5-1 final. Surtees goal came on a penalty kick.
- Keagan Le'Roux scored two of the Hiram goals on Saturday, both coming in the second half.
- Edgewood College was outshot, 21-13, for the match. The Eagles and Terriers each put 10 shots up in the second half.

Brendon Martin finished the match with seven saves for Edgewood College. His counterpart, CJ Keith, totaled six saves.
