LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Edgewood College Volleyball team had another strong year in the classroom and was recognized for it once again with the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award, announced last week by the association.

The Eagles have earned the award 12-straight seasons with this year's selection. In order to qualify, a program must maintain a 3.30 or higher cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

A record was broken this season with 1,126 schools from across the country earning the Team Academic Award, the first time over 1,000 schools were honored. The Eagles were one of 175 Division III Women's teams to receive the academic honor.

The award showcases the pride the Eagles continue to put into being a student-athlete. Several of the Edgewood College athletic teams have been honored with academic awards this season, the Volleyball program joining the list with hard work in the classroom.
