SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The Edgewood College Softball team dropped a pair of NACC games Saturday at Lakeland University. The Eagles fell in a closer one in the opener, 5-4, before Lakeland completed the sweep with a 7-3 final in game two.
LAKELAND 5, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 4
- The Eagles built a 3-1 lead by scoring runs in the first, second, and fourth innings.
Grace Delleman had an RBI single in the top of the fourth to put the Edgewood College up 3-1.
- Lakeland made the score 3-2 with a run in the bottom half of the fourth and then took its first lead of the game by scoring three times. Amber Andersen, who finished 3-for-3 for the Muskies, had the final RBI single of the inning.
- The Eagles would threaten in the seventh, including cutting the Muskies lead to 5-4 on a
Cassidy Nelson RBI single. Edgewood College had runners at first and second but Lakeland escaped for the one-run win.
- Nelson drove in two runs, while
Sabrina Maicke collected three hits, including a double to pace the Eagles offense. Delleman added two hits for Edgewood College.
Maddy Coppens took the loss despite a complete-game effort.
LAKELAND 7, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 3
- Lakeland controlled the second game but the Eagles did make things interesting with a three-run sixth inning. Edgewood College trailed 5-0 heading into the sixth before scoring three times, unfortunately the Muskies responded with two more in the bottom half to make a 7-3 final.

Jenna Dunbar and Coppens each recorded two hits for Edgewood College.
Emily Bloomfield, who was the pitcher of record, and Coppens, each pitched three innings in the contest.
