Box Score 2 The Edgewood College Men's Tennis team played in two different locations against two different NACC teams and experienced two different results Friday. The Eagles started the day visiting Concordia University Wisconsin, falling 7-1, before returning to the Madison area and taking on Marian in a rescheduled match. The Eagles rebounded nicely with a 6-3 win over the Sabres, helping them finish the NACC regular season with a 6-3 league record.
EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 6, MARIAN 3
- The Eagles won all six matches played with Marian picking up three wins via default. It started at doubles, where Edgewood College picked up a couple wins to take a 2-1 lead into singles play. Th No. 2 duo of
Jackson Venske and
Tommy Ebben rolled to an 8-2 win, while the No. 1 tandem of
Marius Dornhagen Schradermeier and
Sabastion Seeger netted an 8-6 win. .
- In singles play the Eagles continued to soar en route to the 6-3 win. Dornhagen Schradermeier went 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, while Seeger cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.
- Venske gained a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2) win at No. 3 singles and Ebben added an easy 6-1, 6-0 No. 4 singles victory to help the Eagles win their sixth league match of the season.
CONCORDIA WISCONSIN 7, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 1
- The Eagles started the day with a setback at Concordia Wisconsin. The lone win for Edgewood College came at No. 1 doubles where Seeger and Dornhagen Schradermeier recorded an 8-4 win.
- In singles play the Eagles had some great battles, most notably at the No. 3 spot. Venske and the Falcon's Peter Kloda went into a third-set tiebreaker after exchanging 6-3 wins in the first two sets. In the tiebreaker, Kloda outlasted Venske to conclude a great match, 13-11.
