WHITEWATER, Wis. – Marius Dornhagen Schradermeier picked up a win at No. 1 singles but the Edgewood College Men's Tennis team was dealt a 6-1 setback at UW-Whitewater Thursday night. The match was shortened due to weather as two doubles contest did not finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Since inclement weather was on the forecast, the Warhawks and Eagles decided to play the four singles contest first. UW-Whitewater won three of those four and picked up two wins via default to take a 5-1 lead. They picked up a third win via default at No. 3 doubles for the 6-1 final.
- Dornhagen Schradermeier dropped his first set, 4-6, before rallying for his win at No. 1 singles. He cruised in set two with a 6-0 win and picked up a 10-5 victory in the third-set tiebreaker. He has now won three-straight and four of his last five at No. 1 singles.
- Dornhagen Schradermeier and
Sabastion Seeger were tied in the No. 1 doubles match (3-3) when play was called, while the Warhawks led 6-1 in the No. 2 doubles contest.
