LAKE BLUFF, Ill. - The Edgewood College Women's Tennis team took on a tough Lake Forest College team on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles came away on the short end of a 9-0 loss, but gained valuable experience playing the Foresters on their home court.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Edgewood College (19-6) fell behind 3-0 against Lake Forest College (19-3) after doubles play, losing 8-1 at the No. 2 slot and 8-2 at No. 3.

- The duo of Sydney Verbauwhede and Alyssa Carew at the No. 1 doubles position came the closest, falling 8-5.

- In singles play, Kai Heineman came closest to a victory for the Eagles. Heineman bounced back from a rough first set to for a match tiebreaker, before falling to Tebatso Duba 6-0, 6-7 (7-1) in the No. 3 singles slot.

- Alyssa Carew and Alicia Picard put up a good battle at the No. 2 and No. 4 singles positions, respectively. Carew dropped her match 6-3, 6-3 to Allison Watts, while Picard fell 6-4, 6-3 to Leeza Bodnar.

UP NEXT
- Edgewood College will take Sunday off before heading to UW-Whitewater on Monday. The non-conference match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Wangerin Courts in Whitewater Wis.
