VERONA, Wis. - The Edgewood College Softball team was swept by Rockford University in a NACC doubleheader on Tuesday. The Eagles dropped defensive opener, 1-0, before falling in game two, 4-1.

ROCKFORD UNIVERSITY 1, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 0
- In a mainly defensive contest, the Edgewood College (6-18, 0-12 NACC) defense battled well turning perfect double play in the top of the fourth inning and showing poise and confidence with runners in scoring position.

- The lone run of the contest game for Rockford University (14-16, 4-8 NACC) in the top of the third inning. With runners on second and third, a hit from Dylan King plated Gretchen Schrubbe from third. The Eagles were quickly able to minimize the damage, getting two quick ground outs to end the inning.

- The Eagles biggest threat came in the bottom of the third inning, as a single from both Laurissa Belott and Sabrina Maicke put runners on first and second base, but Regents pitcher Rylee Klema forced a pop-up to end the inning.

- Maddy Coppens went the distance for the Eagles, only allowing four hits, one earned run, and one strikeout.

- Schrubbe paced the Raiders offense with two hits, while King finished with an RBI.

ROCKFORD UNIVERSITY 4, EDGEWOOD COLLEGE 1
- In game two, the Regents struck first as the first three batters efficiently loaded the bases. A miscue from the Eagles scored the first run of the game, and a single to center field from Sammi Russell scored two more before Maddy Coppens was able to hold the Regents at 3 with a strike out to end the inning.

- The Eagles responded in the bottom of the second inning, as Grace Delleman quickly got things rolling with an unexpected bunt that forced a quick throw from the Regents. Delleman quickly whizzed around the bases, making her way to third on the miscue from the Regents. In the next at-bat Delleman scored on another miscue from the Regents infield.

- Rockford would score once more in the nightcap, as a sacrifice fly from Dylan King scored Schrubbe from third base to make the score 4-1.
